ORC Week 8 | Home Office Room REVEAL!

These last 8 weeks have flown by! I went from an idea of what this room could be to a complete transformation. In other words, I turned my dreams into floor plans and took ownership of the transformation process. And I couldn’t be happier with the results!

Before we get into the reveal, let’s take a look at where this all started.

So it was clear to me once I started using this room on a regular basis that it couldn’t stay like this. I definitely feed off the energy of the environment that I’m in so it’s important for my workspace to be a place that sets me up for success.

It all started with a Pin…

Like a good DIYer, I’m on Pinterest and Houzz and Instagram and YouTube all the time, scouring the corners of the internet for design inspiration. Several months ago, I pinned this image and knew it would only be a matter of time before I found somewhere to do this in my own home.

When I decided to jump into the spring 2021 One Room Challenge, I knew I had to at least try to this into my bold vision.

THE PLAN

When I’m starting a new project in my home, I like to make as many decisions up front as possible. That means making a mood board, drawing up a floor plan, and planning a shopping list before whipping out any tools. Here’s how I turned my bold black and white office dream into plans:

With plan in hand, all that was left to do was to work the plan. So that’s what I’ve been doing over the past few weeks and the results have been well worth the effort!

So without further ado, here is the final product!
